“Assa is the 5th insurance company to arrive to Costa Rica"
2010 awaits new companies and insurance brokers
Assa Insurance company became the 5th company to enter the Insurance record of Costa Rica, after receiving approval of the country's insurance superintendency (Sugese) this past April 13th. The company, owned by Grupo Assa of Panama, has license to sell general and personal insurance policies, being the first insurance private company to have this license.
In addition to Assa, the Aseguradora Mundial, Alico, Magisterio and INS, are the only registered companies before SUGESE so far. However, only these last two companies have policies registered. SUGESE expects that at the end of this year there would be between eight and ten licensed insurers, and twelve by the end of 2011.
